As President of Trinity Lutheran Church (TLC), I want to take every opportunity to keep our friends and members informed about what’s going on here; so I’ll use this as a monthly update of recent events.
We’re still limiting our attendance to 35 for each worship service; and encouraging social distancing inside the building to guard against COVID-19. But we are returning to a single Saturday worship service at 5:00 PM. Our “drive-in” style worship opportunities at each of our services continue to be popular; just tune your car radio to 1210 AM and you can remain safely in your car.
Regardless of the COVID restrictions there are still a number of opportunities to serve in TLC, here are a couple:
- Grant Writing: Consider trying your hand at applying for a grant to help with financing our new building, no experience required. There are no scheduled meetings, all work is done on-line, so it can be done on your schedule.
- Trustees: Always looking for some strong backs to help with the maintenance of our facility.
Call Lorna Wright, our Administrative Assistant, to get started.
And if you’d like to join the Wednesday evening Zoom Bible Study send Lorna an email for the link to this popular class with Pastor Marc.
Annual Leadership Team elections are coming up in December. Consider volunteering to help by signing up for Member at Large, or as an officer on the bulletin board at the entrance. Next year will be busy with work on the new building ramping up.
At the most recent meeting of the Building Committee a timeline was drafted to get a sense of when groundbreaking could occur. There are still a lot of hoops to jump through; several approvals are still needed from the county; but it looks like October of 2021 is possible.
Are there things that TLC could be doing right now to connect with our community? If you have an idea of a new activity that you’d like to see started, pass it on to myself, or Lorna, or Pastor Marc. Good ideas are definitely welcomed.
Remember, it’s God’s church, but He’s called us to take care of it until he returns. Your help makes Trinity Lutheran Church possible.
