State of our Church
Fellow members of our Trinity Lutheran Church,
I am excited to present the current state of our Church and to share our plan for the year.
The status of our Church for the 2022 year is solid despite all of the challenges we faced last year. Financially, we are strong. Membership and engagement is inspiring. Our future, both near and beyond, is very encouraging. Each of you has an important role in the body of our Church and the success we achieve.
Financially, we are in the black. Despite the challenges that COVID had on our ability to have in person worship we still exceeded our budget goals last year. What is even more impressive is we were able to pay off the mortgage for our existing sanctuary and save a significant amount of money to put towards our new sanctuary! We had some absolutely jaw dropping donations as we finished out the year! Many Churches have struggled mightily these past two years with some even closing their doors. Our financial situation is a testament to the amazing congregation we have here at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Another area of growth is in our membership and the engagement of our congregation. As previously stated, many churches have been hit hard due to Covid. Our Church rose above the challenges of the year and came together for each other. Innovations of using a radio transmitter and our website has helped keep our congregation connected so we can continue to hear God’s word. Plans are in place to allow people to remotly watch our service live! This will improve the experience for those who cannot attend our service in person and will certainly reach a greater audience.
With our strong engagement we came together in new ventures that helped our church financially with events like the Pumpkin Patch and commemorative brick campaign. The pumpkin patch gave our Church a great deal of visibility and inspired new people to join our congregation. It took many of you to volunteer your time to make the pumpkin patch a success. Our bricks campaign has raised money and gives a visual reminder of the love within our congregation.
We will continue our fundraising efforts this year. Our Fundraising team have many great ideas in the works. The brick program will continue and we look to have places to lay more bricks once the new sanctuary is built. We may also repeat the pumpkin patch if we have not broken ground by October and build on that success.
Your engagement in our Church and community is what illustrates why our future is bright. We are on goal to break ground for our new sanctuary this year. This project will allow our Church to grow and provide more services to our community. We do not have an exact date yet on when we break ground but when we do it will be momentous. We are in the waiting game as we await approval from the county on our building permit. The new sanctuary is our number one priority as a Leadership team.
Our Leadership team is also planning for the future. There will be so many new opportunities that will present themselves once we have our new sanctuary. We are looking into the idea of hiring a dedicated youth minister/program director. Parents have communicated that if we had a more robust youth ministry they would be more likely to join our Church. Bringing in younger generations to our Church will help to future proof our Church and give a long term purpose for our new sanctuary. In addition, we are looking into other ministries that we can participate in and provide services to our community. This may include ministries such as athletic, high school and college programs, seniors, father/men, and even couples night out.
Many of our recent sermons have been about the idea that most of our ministry is performed in the community where we spend a majority of out time. This is absolutely true. Each of you is equally important to this Church. You do not have to be on the Leadership team to make a difference. We have an abundant wealth of experience in our congregation. I encourage each of you to simply participate in our events and join in our fellowship. If you have any thoughts, ideas , or advice please contact our Leadership team so we can serve you better. We look out for each other and our community. I have witnessed this first hand and I am so humble to be a part of this congregation. We are truly brothers and sisters in Christ. Our Church’s future is bright and promising.
Best regards,
Marc Truitt
President
Thank you Marc…great informative update! We are so blessed!!
Marc, Outstanding President’s Blog which to the word couldn’t be more correct and exactly what each active Trinity Lutheran member has witnessed! While Renee and I have only been members a short time, but Lutherans for a long time, what we have seen happening at Trinity Lutheran is why we transferred our membership to Trinity Lutheran.
Trinity Lutheran strong Leadership team, the members and Pastor Marc, Christine and family are what makes this all possible! Everyone working together to spread the Word of GOD!
One suggestion I would like to included in the new church is Induction Looping which is easily installed during construction. What it does is transmit what’s being said right into a person hearing aid that’s has a build in T-coil which 80% or more do. Also 100% of Cochlear Implants have the T-coil. It’s like the microphone is right in the ear. I would be happy to talk with you and show you video on how it works.
